Chapter 2 – Modern Historians of Ancient India Notes

As of my last update in September 2021, several modern historians have made significant contributions to the study of ancient Indian history. Some of the prominent historians in this field include:

1. Romila Thapar: Romila Thapar is one of the most renowned historians of ancient India. Her work focuses on early Indian history and has been influential in shaping the understanding of ancient Indian society, economy, and culture. Thapar’s scholarship often emphasizes the critical analysis of historical sources and the examination of diverse perspectives.

2. R.S. Sharma: R.S. Sharma was a prominent historian who specialized in ancient Indian history, particularly in the social and economic aspects of early India. His research contributed to a deeper understanding of ancient Indian society and its evolution over time.
